Channel media have been quick to cover the arrival of the former Telstra and TeamViewer channel boss. In an interview with channelpartnersonline.com’s news editor, Edward Gately, Pech explained that joining the Linius team was a simple decision.
Channel Partners: Why did you want to take this role with Linius Technologies?
Stephen Pech: Linius is at an unbelievably exciting stage in its development in terms of product and partnerships. I’ve never seen technology with this type of genuinely disruptive potential before, period.
Linius’ VVE is the only solution in the world that can remove the container from static video files, exposing the actual video data. This enables that information to be analyzed and manipulated to unearth new insights and create custom video content on the fly. Considering that 80 percent of the world’s internet traffic is video-related, the implications for creating new business models and enabling big-data analytics is simply enormous.
As for the channel, that’s how Linius is taking its capabilities global, now that initial proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and commercial deals have shown the potential — especially across the news media, sports, corporate communications and education markets. For example, in the United States, we’ve recently conducted successful PoCs with Oklahoma State University and education digital asset management platform, MediaAMP.
Even before commercialization, Linius had attracted investment from IBM, (and) proven its capabilities on Microsoft Azure and AWS. A company attracting this sort of attention at this early stage of commercialization is unheard of; it really speaks to the transformative nature of the technology.

About Linius Technologies Limited
Amazon, Microsoft and IBM are investing billions in virtualizing video services (technologies) and Artificial Intelligence in the cloud. It is arguably the biggest battle on the internet, given that video accounts for nearly 80 percent of internet traffic.
Only Linius can expose the data that makes up the video file, making cumbersome video as flexible as all other forms of data. Accessing the data within the video file is the missing link for video cloud service providers, creating unparalleled value across the internet video industry.
Linius has the potential to transform many multi-billion-dollar markets, and is initially focused on:
- Anti-Piracy: Applying proven data protection methods to video to solve piracy
- Search: Search within videos and compiling new videos on-the-fly
- Security and Defence: Intelligent search and immediate distribution of security footage
- Personalized Advertising: Hyper-personalized to individuals, time slots and content
