Talking tech: Unpacking Video Virtualization
Asked to articulate the inner-workings of Linius’ Video Virtualization Engine™, Richardson explained that the ability to leave video source files “untouched” was a key aspect of Linius’ unique capabilities: the capacity to programmatically assemble clips from multiple sources, in order to deliver hyper-personalized video experiences.
Warner Bros. POC goes live
“Early last year, we announced a proof of concept trial with Warner Bros,” said Richardson. “That trial went live at the end of last year, and we expect to be reporting the results of that in the near future.”
Commercial POC with Oklahoma State University goes public
“Viewers can go and check-out OStateTV [to see the live POC],” said Richardson. “They’re phenomenally happy with what they’re able to do. As a TV station at a university, they like to be pioneers of technology, and they’re blown away by these new capabilities.”

The launch of Linius Video Services: “This is really exciting”
“As we’ve mentioned many times over the years, this opportunity is tremendous,” said Richardson. “And, there’s no way we’re going to go and execute it all independently. Just in video hyper-personalization alone, there’s around nine core verticals that we’re actively engaged with.
“So we can’t go get all the opportunity that there is out there ourselves. So, LVS, our SaaS platform, provides the means for anyone to come and innovate, create their own ideas, and use virtual video for their own benefit.
“Any engineer, any business, can come, sign-up, and use our APIs — just like you would use Amazon Web Services — and start writing software to deliver whatever they can dream of with virtual video.”

New Advisory Board members facilitate commercial introductions
“It’s a commercial advisory board,” said Richardson. “So, specifically, they can make commercial introductions and help us navigate large companies in particular industries of interest throughout the world. That’s the model for the advisory board.
“Simon Gallagher was the former Director of Content Acquisition at Netflix, and so had exposure to the world’s largest streaming service. But, more importantly, he also had exposure to all the content providers [in their ecosystem].
“So with that exposure, and his understanding of Linius’ technology, he can really see the different possible applications across the industry, and make introductions to those content providers.”

“If we look at Camilla [Dahlin-Andersson Ph.D], she’s a former Swedish parliamentarian and, more significantly, the Chairperson of Newstag,” said Richardson. “So her connection to news industries across the world — the hundreds and hundreds of news broadcasters, and her ability to make introductions there — are quite meaningful to us on the news side of things.”

New Linius Partner Program to facilitate channel expansion
“Our Partner Program is really exciting,” said Richardson. “We have three pillars to our go-to-market strategy. The first of which is direct sales. Then, the idea is that we take those direct deals and POCs, and replicate those solutions through our network of channel partners.
“The new Linius Partner Program is designed to attract and retain best-of-breed partners — from resellers, distributors, and ISVs, to referral partners and system integrators.
“The program is set-up with three tiers — Silver, Gold and Platinum; with each tier based on annual sales volume — and was developed in conjunction with our existing partners.
“This approach will help us aggressively grow the business and achieve success.”
New reseller partnership with Certus Solutions
“Signing Certus is really exciting,” said Richardson. “They’re the largest and fastest growing partner of IBM in Australia. So, it’s really representative of us taking the next step forward in our long-standing IBM relationship.
“We’re very excited about working with Certus and their breadth of experience in the region.”
